Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Position in Bluffton, SC - Weekly Pay 23/24

Blazerworks, in partnership with the Bluffton School District, is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) professional for a full-time position in Bluffton, SC. Position: Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Specialist Location: Bluffton, SC

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
• Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the unique needs of each student
• Utilize assistive technology and other resources to enhance student learning
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create and implement effective instructional strategies
• Conduct assessments and monitor student progress
• Provide guidance and support to classroom teachers and staff regarding DHH students' needs
• Stay current with best practices and research in the field of Deaf Education

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field
• Valid teaching certification in Deaf Education or Special Education (South Carolina certification or eligibility for certification)
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
