Procare Therapy is seeking a qualified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHHT) to join our team in Burbank, CA, for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf and hard of hearing in various educational settings.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech therapists, and other professionals to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive educational experience for students.
- Utilize effective teaching strategies, assistive technologies, and communication methods to enhance student learning and engagement.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes learning and social development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
- Valid California teaching credential with a Deaf and Hard of Hearing endorsement.
- Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of other communication methods used by students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Experience working with students who are deaf and hard of hearing, including knowledge of auditory-verbal and/or total communication approaches.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
