Job Description:
Our school near Boulder, CO, is seeking a dedicated and passionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to join our team for the remainder of the 2023-2024 school year. This is a temporary, full-time position at the pre-K and elementary school levels.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and support staff to create an inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize various teaching strategies and assistive technologies to enhance student learning.
- Assess and monitor students' progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed.
- Foster communication and collaboration with parents, ensuring their involvement in the educational process.
- Stay abreast of current research, trends, and best practices in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.
- Experience working with pre-K and elementary school students.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Knowledge of diverse instructional strategies and assistive technologies.
- Ability to adapt instruction to meet the individual needs of each student.
