Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (REMOTE) | Delaware


VocoVision has a need for a part-time, Deaf and Hard of Hearing teacher in Delware. As a remote teacher, you will utilize VocoVision's remote platform and toolkit in order to provide services and teach.

Job Details:
- Part Time (12.5hrs/week)
- Caseload: 3 students needing direct services
- Ages range so familiarity with different ages is important
- Additional Specifics to be discussed on interview
- Pay is hourly - Starting in the $30s/hr based on experience

This is a part-time position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to work from the comfort of your own home.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver virtual instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Partake in the development and and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs and goals.
  • Utilize various digital tools and platforms to facilitate engaging and interactive lessons.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and parents to ensure the successful inclusion of students with hearing impairments.
  • Provide guidance and support to students in developing communication skills, including sign language and speech.
  • Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the needs of students with hearing impairments.
  • Monitor student progress and provide ongoing feedback and assessments.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress, and other relevant information.
  • Attend virtual meetings and professional development sessions as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Deaf Education in the state of Delaware
  • Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with other communication modes used by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing, preferably in a remote or online setting.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
  • Reliable internet connection and a quiet, distraction-free workspace.

- Be certified as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher
