Deaf/Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHH) | Burien, WA

Soliant Health is currently seeking dedicated and passionate Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teachers for an exciting opportunity within a well-established school district in Burien, Washington. This position offers an excellent chance to work within a large deaf education program, serving students throughout the district.

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to DHH students in accordance with their Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Develop and implement appropriate teaching strategies and materials to meet the unique needs of each student
• Collaborate with other professionals, including speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and classroom teachers, to ensure a comprehensive approach to student success
• Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and make necessary adjustments to instructional plans
• Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for DHH students
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student performance and address any concerns

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field
• Valid state certification or licensure as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (or ability to obtain certification before starting)
• Experience working with DHH students preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply
• Strong knowledge of best practices and instructional strategies for DHH students
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
