Deaf + Hard of Hearing Teacher Needed in Smithfield, Virginia

ProCare Therapy is working with a school district in Smithfield, Virginia to hire a certified deaf + hard of hearing teacher to cover a leave of absence until the end of November. This position will be full time and will pay up to $30/hour!
What you’ll do:
- Work with a K-12 caseload of deaf/hard of hearing students with a range of hearing support needs.
- Work full time hours, up to 37.5 hours per week.
- Participate in IEP meetings and help make recommendations for students.
- Build rapport and trust with the children you work with.
- Foster a safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Support other relevant staff to help students achieve their goals.

Application requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor's degree required.
- Virginia Special Education certification required.
- Active Virginia Deaf + Hard of Hearing teaching endorsement required
- Availability to work 7am - 4pm.
- Two references with one by a previous direct supervisor/manager.
- Background check, drug screen + fingerprinting.
- TB test within 60 days of start date (only applicable in certain states).
You’ll stand out if you have:
- Experience working in schools.
- Spent time in special education settings.
- Any SpEd-specific training or certifications.
