Hours: Full-time
Summary:
Are you a passionate and dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a difference in the lives of preschool children? We are seeking a full-time DHH Teacher to join our team for the spring semester of 2024. You will have the opportunity to work with a small caseload of preschoolers in a self-contained classroom setting.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive instruction in American Sign Language (ASL) and auditory-verbal therapy to preschool children
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each child
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure optimal progress
- Document child progress and maintain accurate records
- Stay up-to-date on the latest research and best practices in DHH education
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education or a related field
- Valid South Carolina Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher license
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working with preschool-aged DHH children
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in ASL and auditory-verbal therapy techniques
