Full-Time Educational Braillist Teacher 22/23 School Year – Tacoma, Washington

Soliant has collaborated with a school district in the Tacoma, Washington area that is seeking an Educational Braillist. This is a full-time contract position for the 22/23 school year.

About the Position:

• K-12
• Itinerant- multiple locations
• Transcribe print materials into Braille for students who are Blind/Visually Impaired
• Keep current on revisions to the various Braille codes.
• Assist visually impaired student with computer technology or continue development of Braille skills as appropriate.

Qualifications:

• Washington Certification of Braille Competency and/or Library of Congress Braille Competency Certification
• Knowledge of EBAE and UEB Braille codes used with correct formatting for Literary Braille.
• Knowledge of Nemeth Braille Code.
