Full-Time Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher

 

ProCare Therapy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. As a contracted employee, you will have the opportunity to work in the vibrant city of Riverside, California, providing exceptional educational services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. This position offers a supportive work environment and competitive compensation package.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, tailored to their specific needs and abilities.
  • Provide direct instruction and support to students in various subjects, utilizing appropriate instructional strategies and materials.
  • Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and parents to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to students' academic and social-emotional development.
  • Assess students' progress regularly and modify instructional strategies as necessary to meet their changing needs.
  • Utilize assistive technology and other resources to enhance students' learning experiences and facilitate communication.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including progress reports, attendance records, and IEP reports.
  • Attend team meetings, professional development sessions, and parent-teacher conferences as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field (required).
  • Valid teaching credential with Deaf and Hard of Hearing specialization (required).
  • Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledgeable about different communication modalities for students with hearing loss.
  • Familiarity with IEP development and implementation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Passionate about working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing and dedicated to their success.
