Full-Time Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher

ProCare Therapy is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher for the 2023-24 school year in Goshen, IN. As a contracted position, you will have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students with hearing impairments and create an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing impairments.
• Utilize various instructional techniques and resources to facilitate the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
• Provide support and accommodations to promote effective communication and language development.
• Collaborate with other professionals, including speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and classroom teachers, to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to education.
• Conduct assessments and track student progress to determine appropriate educational strategies and interventions.
• Establish positive relationships with students, families, and the wider school community.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching certification in Deaf Education or ability to obtain one in Indiana.
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is required.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and specialized teaching strategies for students with hearing impairments.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and parents.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
