Full-Time Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-Time Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to join our team for the 2023-24 school year. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of students who are deaf or hard of hearing in the Manhattan, KS area.
Position Overview: As a Full-Time Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing specialized instruction, support, and guidance to students with varying degrees of hearing loss. Your expertise will help create an inclusive and supportive learning environment, ensuring that each student reaches their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with hearing loss.
- Provide direct instruction to students in both individual and group settings.
- Utilize appropriate assistive technologies and teaching strategies to enhance communication and learning.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, speech-language pathologists, and other specialists to support students' overall development.
- Monitor and track students' progress, adapting teaching methods as needed.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes students' self-confidence and self-advocacy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
- Valid state teaching certification in Deaf Education.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modes used by students with hearing loss.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for empowering students with hearing loss.
