Full-Time DHH Teacher (Contracted by ProCare Therapy)

ProCare Therapy, a leading provider of educational staffing solutions, is seeking a highly qualified and passionate Full-Time Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to join our team for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. This position will be contracted through ProCare Therapy and will be based in Downey, California.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
• Utilize specialized instructional techniques and materials to meet the unique needs of students with hearing impairments.
• Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure effective communication and inclusion.
• Monitor student progress, assess educational outcomes, and provide regular feedback to parents and the educational team.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, including student documentation, attendance, and progress reports.
• Attend team meetings, professional development workshops, and training sessions as required.
• Stay current with best practices and advancements in the field of deaf education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field.
• Valid California Teaching Credential with specialization in Deaf Education.
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication modalities used by students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive devices used in deaf education.
• Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the academic and social development of students with hearing impairments.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet the unique needs of diverse learners.
