Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher (DHHT) – Mableton, GA

Position Details:

  • Type: Contracted, Full-Time
  • Location: Mabelton, GA 

Responsibilities: As a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher, you will be responsible for providing specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments, creating an inclusive and accessible learning environment. Your role will encompass:

  • Developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to the needs of each student.
  • Collaborating with other educators, specialists, and families to ensure a comprehensive and supportive educational experience.
  • Utilizing effective teaching strategies, resources, and technology to engage students and enhance their learning outcomes.
  • Monitoring and assessing student progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed.
  • Providing support for communication and language development, fostering students' self-confidence and independence.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid Georgia teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education (or ability to obtain certification before the start date).
  • Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing is preferred.
  • Familiarity with American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus, but not required.
