Job Description: We are currently hiring a compassionate American Sign Language Teacher to join our district for the upcoming school year. The ideal candidates will have experience instructing students in ASL language skills, and will have the skills to create lesson plans that suit students of varying educational needs.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans to teach ASL to students of varying skill levels, including beginners and advanced learners.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
• Introduce students to Deaf culture, history, and social nuances to promote cultural understanding and sensitivity.
• Utilize a variety of instructional techniques and materials, such as visual aids, videos, and interactive activities, to enhance the learning experience.
• Assess student progress through regular evaluations, tests, and assignments, providing constructive feedback to promote improvement.
• Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and overall performance.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure a supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

• DESE Certification
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Massachusetts Teacher Certificate
