Job Title: Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher
Location: Thomson, Georgia Area
Employment Type: Full-Time, Onsite

Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to join our team in the Thomson, Georgia area for the 24/25 school year. This full-time position requires onsite presence, Monday through Friday, with a standard workload of 37.5 hours per week. The specific caseload will be discussed during the interview process. A valid DHH certificate in Georgia is required for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) based on students' unique needs and abilities.
  • Utilize appropriate teaching strategies and resources to promote language development, communication skills, and academic growth.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to ensure a cohesive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assess student progress regularly and adjust instructional plans as necessary.
  • Facilitate communication between students and peers, as well as between students and teachers.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher in the state of Georgia.
  • Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing is preferred.
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and/or other communication modalities used by individuals with hearing loss.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and families.
  • Commitment to providing high-quality, individualized instruction and support to students with diverse needs.
