Full-Time Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Term: Academic Year (August 2024 - May 2025)
About the Role:
We are seeking a committed Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our educational team in Macon, GA. This position involves providing specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments across various grade levels.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students based on their specific needs.
- Provide direct instruction using specialized techniques and resources to enhance learning outcomes.
- Collaborate effectively with educational teams, including parents, teachers, and support staff, to ensure comprehensive support for students.
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive equipment to facilitate communication and learning.
- Monitor student progress, conduct assessments, and maintain accurate records of student performance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Georgia teaching certificate with endorsement in Deaf Education or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
