Job Description: We are seeking a qualified School DHH Teacher to join our team in Medford, Oregon for the upcoming 2023-2024 school year. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, helping them to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to succeed in their academic and personal lives.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a variety of subjects, including English, math, science, and social studies
  • Use specialized teaching strategies and resources to support the unique learning needs of DHH students
  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for each student on your caseload
  • Collaborate with other educators, support staff, and families to provide a comprehensive and effective educational experience for DHH students
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as needed to ensure academic success
  • Provide support and guidance to students on issues related to communication, social skills, and self-advocacy
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress, attendance, and behavior

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
  • Certification in Deaf Education or Special Education with a focus on DHH
  • Experience teaching DHH students in a classroom setting
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) and ability to communicate effectively with DHH students
  • Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for DHH students
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be licensed to teach in the state of Oregon
