DHH (Deaf and Hard of Hearing) Specialist

Location: Anoka, MN

Blazerworks, in partnership with the local school, is seeking a motivated and experienced DHH Specialist to join our team in Anoka, Minnesota. As a DHH Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing specialized support and education to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring their success in an inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Provide direct instruction and support to students in various educational settings, including classrooms, resource rooms, and individual tutoring sessions.
• Utilize appropriate technology and resources to enhance communication and learning experiences for students.
• Assess students' progress and develop appropriate strategies and interventions to address their specific needs.
• Serve as a liaison between parents, teachers, and other professionals to facilitate effective communication and coordination of services.
• Stay updated on current research, trends, and best practices in the field of deaf education.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
• Valid teaching license/certification in Deaf Education or Special Education with a focus on hearing impairment.
• Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with various communication modes used by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing.
• Strong understanding of the unique challenges and learning needs of students with hearing loss.
• Experience in developing and implementing IEPs and adapting curriculum to meet individual student goals.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
