About the Role:
The Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher will play a key role in providing specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, students, and families to help ensure a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment.
Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in various educational settings

Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs
-
Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to support student learning and accessibility
-
Advocate for appropriate accommodations and assistive technology to support student access to curriculum
-
Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations related to special education
Qualifications:

Valid Maryland State Certification as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (or eligibility to obtain)

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field
-
Preferred experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in a school setting

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
