Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Location: Annapolis, MD
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday–Friday | 35–40 hours per week
Contract Dates: August 12, 2025 – June 5, 2026 (2025–2026 School Year)
Caseload: Approximately 15–25 students (depending on district assignment)
Blazer Jobs is seeking a certified Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a full-time, school-based role in Annapolis, MD. This position is ideal for a compassionate educator dedicated to supporting the academic and communication needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction and support in academic and communication areas, tailored to individual student needs

Collaborate with school staff to develop and implement instructional goals and methods in accordance with district and IEP requirements

Regularly communicate with parents, audiologists, speech therapists, and team members to exchange updates and support strategies

Conduct ongoing assessments of student achievement using formal and informal tools
-
Prepare for and actively participate in IEP meetings related to student programming and services
Requirements:

Valid Maryland certification as a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing or appropriate credential

Experience working in school settings preferred
-
Strong understanding of deaf education strategies, assistive technologies, and communication modalities (e.g., ASL, Cued Speech)

Ability to work collaboratively and maintain consistent documentation
