Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) – Full-Time – Burlington, VT
Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing for a full-time, in-person position in Burlington, Vermont. In this role, you will provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring access to education and communication within the classroom environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting language development, academic success, and inclusion for students with hearing differences.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s hearing and communication needs.

Provide direct and consultative services to support students in academic, social, and communication growth.

Collaborate with general education teachers, audiologists, interpreters, speech-language pathologists, and families to ensure student success.

Adapt curriculum and learning materials to meet the auditory and communication needs of each student.

Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed.

Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team discussions, and parent conferences.

Advocate for accessibility and inclusion within the school setting.

Comply with all state and district regulations regarding special education and hearing services.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field.

Active Vermont teaching certification with endorsement as a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.

Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred.

Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
