This full-time opportunity is for a certified Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing to support K-12 students in a dynamic educational setting in Brooklyn, NY. The role requires a dedicated professional who holds valid NYSED certification as a Teacher of the Deaf. The position spans the full academic school year, starting on September 2, 2025, and concluding on June 24, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver specialized instruction tailored to the needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing across K-12 grade levels
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Utilize a variety of communication methods and assistive technologies to enhance student learning and engagement
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching strategies as necessary
  • Maintain compliance with NYSED regulations and district policies regarding special education services

Qualifications and Experience:

  • NYSED Teacher of the Deaf certification required
  • Proven experience working with deaf and hard-of-hearing students in a K-12 educational environment
  • Strong knowledge of auditory-oral, sign language, and total communication methodologies
  • Ability to create inclusive, supportive, and accessible classroom environments
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
