Position Overview
As a DHH teacher, you’ll work with students who are Deaf or hard of hearing to ensure they receive accessible, engaging, and individualized instruction. You’ll collaborate with school staff, families, and specialists to create supportive learning environments that foster both academic and social-emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver direct and consultative DHH services

Create and implement IEPs with tailored goals for communication and academic achievement

Adapt curriculum and utilize appropriate assistive technologies

Support students using spoken language, ASL, or total communication, depending on need

Collaborate with interpreters, audiologists, general educators, and families

Maintain clear records and progress documentation
Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field

Active Maryland teaching license with DHH endorsement (or eligibility to obtain)

ASL proficiency and/or experience with total communication strategies preferred

Experience working with students in a school setting

Strong collaboration and communication skills
