Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) — Coal Center, PA
Pay: From $36-$39/hr, based off experienceBlazer Jobs is seeking a qualified Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) to join a partnering school district in the Coal Center, PA area for a full-time, onsite role. The ideal candidate will be comfortable providing specialized instruction, auditory support, and communication strategies to students with hearing impairments across various grade levels. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate closely with families, interpreters, speech-language pathologists, and educational staff to ensure student success.
Requirements (must meet all state and district guidelines):

Active Pennsylvania DHH or Hearing Impaired Teacher certification

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field

Knowledge of IEP development, progress monitoring, and specialized instructional strategies

PA clearances (FBI, Child Abuse, State Police)

Familiarity with assistive listening devices (hearing aids, FM systems, cochlear implants)

ASL proficiency preferred but not always required (based on district need)
Typical Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction to students with hearing impairments across multiple grade levels

Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet individual learning needs

Monitor student progress and maintain compliant and timely documentation

Attend IEP meetings and collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams

Support the use, troubleshooting, and integration of assistive listening technology

Partner with general education teachers to support classroom accessibility
