An opportunity is available for a dedicated professional skilled in teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing within a K-12 educational setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction tailored to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to adapt materials and strategies.
- Assess student progress and develop individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Utilize assistive technology and communication systems to enhance learning.
- Provide guidance and support to families regarding educational resources and strategies.
- Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and development.
Desired Qualifications:
- Certification and experience as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or equivalent.
- Deep understanding of communication methods such as American Sign Language (ASL) and speech therapy techniques.
- Experience working within a K-12 school environment.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with students, families, and staff.
- Ability to develop and implement effective individualized instruction plans.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and best practices in Deaf education.
