Key Responsibilities: Deliver specialized instruction aligned with students’ IEPs. Adapt curriculum and collaborate with classroom teachers for accessibility. Support language, communication, and social development. Monitor student progress and maintain documentation. Manage hearing technology and coordinate with audiologists. Provide consultation and training for staff on hearing loss and accommodations. Participate in IEP meetings and communicate with families.
Qualifications: Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Deaf Education or related field. Valid teaching certification in Deaf/Hard of Hearing Education (as required by the state). Knowledge of current best practices in deaf education, assistive technology, and language development. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities, as appropriate.
