Applicants must hold a Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Special Education or a related field and be certified in Visual Disabilities through the Florida Department of Education. Candidates without the appropriate certification will not be considered.

We are currently seeking a passionate Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) for a full-time position in Niceville, FL for the 2025/2026 school year. Nestled in Florida’s Emerald Coast, Niceville is a welcoming, family-oriented community known for its excellent schools and strong educational support systems.

State and Federal Requirements:

• Valid Florida Educator Certificate with an endorsement in Visual Disabilities (K–12).

• Compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and ADA guidelines.

• Background screening and fingerprint clearance as required by the state of Florida.

• Familiarity with assistive technology and the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) is preferred.

Job Description / Duties:

• Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments in a variety of school settings.

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) that meet students' unique visual and educational needs.

• Conduct functional vision and learning media assessments.

• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure access to curriculum.

• Support student independence by teaching skills such as braille, assistive technology, and environmental adaptations.
