Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing Contract Job

DHHT (Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher)

Blazerworks, in partnership with the Beaufort School District, is currently seeking a dedicated and qualified DHHT (Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher) for a full-time position in Beaufort, SC. This position is for the 2023/2024 school year.

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
• Adapt curriculum materials and instructional strategies to meet the unique needs of students
• Utilize appropriate assistive technology and communication devices
• Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to support student success
• Monitor student progress and provide ongoing assessment and feedback

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Valid certification in Deaf Education or the ability to obtain certification in South Carolina
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Knowledge of instructional strategies and accommodations for students with hearing loss
• Familiarity with assistive technology and communication devices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
