Pay rate: $35-45 an hour, pay negotiable
A school in Fort Worth, Texas is seeking a dedicated Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (DHH) for the upcoming academic year. This role involves providing specialized educational support to students with hearing impairments, promoting their academic and communication skills in an inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to students' unique needs and abilities.
- Provide direct instruction in various subjects using specialized techniques and materials suitable for DHH students.
- Collaborate with educational teams, including speech-language pathologists, to integrate communication goals into classroom instruction.
- Utilize assistive technology and adaptive equipment to enhance student learning and communication.
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies as necessary to achieve academic and developmental milestones.
Requirements
- Valid teaching credential with a Deaf Education endorsement.
- Experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) preferred.
- Ability to effectively collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student success.
