Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHHT) Contract Job Full Time

DHHT (Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher) Position in Pittsfield, MA

Blazerworks, in partnership with the Pittsfield School District, is seeking a dedicated and qualified individual to fill the position of a DHHT (Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher) for the 2023/2024 school year. This is a full-time position with competitive wages and excellent company benefits.

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students
• Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet the unique needs of students
• Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and technologies to enhance student learning
• Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to support inclusive education practices
• Assess and monitor student progress, and provide ongoing feedback to students, parents, and the school team
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and social-emotional development

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Valid certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education
• Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Knowledge of sign language and other communication modes used by individuals who are deaf or hard of hearing
• Strong understanding of special education laws and regulations
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
