Job Title: Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher

Position Details:

  • Job Type: Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
  • Grade Levels: Pre-K and Elementary
  • Location: Norfolk, Virginia Area
  • Responsibilities: You will work with students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing, providing specialized instruction and support to help them succeed academically and develop essential communication skills.
  • Commuting: You will be working with a diverse group of students across 3-5 schools within the district. Reliable transportation is required.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Virginia Teaching License with a DHH endorsement
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Deaf Education or a related field
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students
  • Previous experience working with students who are Deaf and Hard of Hearing is preferred
