Teacher to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH Position) - Northwest of Minneapolis, MN

Job Title: Teacher to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing - Full Time

We are seeking a passionate and qualified Teacher to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to join our team in a full-time position. The successful candidate will serve as a secondary role to 1-3 students per building in a Middle School setting (students aged 11-13).

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized education plans for each student based on their unique learning needs and abilities.
• Provide instruction in American Sign Language (ASL) and other communication methods to facilitate communication between students who are deaf/hard of hearing and their peers and teachers.
• Use a variety of teaching techniques, materials, and technologies to engage students and facilitate their learning.
• Collaborate with school administrators, other teachers, and parents to support student success and progress.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure student achievement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
• Certification in Deaf Education or Special Education.
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL).
• Experience teaching students who are deaf/hard of hearing preferred.
• Familiarity with assistive technology and accommodations for students who are deaf/hard of hearing.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
