Are you a passionate and dedicated educator fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)? Soliant Education is thrilled to announce an opportunity for Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teachers to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year.
Job Description: As a DHH Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing specialized instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
- Providing direct instruction in ASL, literacy, math, and other subject areas.
- Collaborating with other educators, specialists, and families to ensure the academic and social success of students.
- Utilizing assistive technology and resources to support student learning.
- Monitoring and assessing student progress, and adjusting instruction as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or related field.
- Valid teaching certification in Deaf Education.
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL).
- Previous experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
