About the Role:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to provide virtual instruction and support to K–12 students across Alabama. This is a full-time remote position that allows you to teach from home while playing a vital role in student development and access to education.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide live, virtual instruction to K–12 students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing

Develop and implement individualized educational plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s needs

Use engaging, accessible digital tools to support student learning and communication

Adapt general education curriculum to meet the needs of DHH learners

Collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families
-
Maintain accurate records and comply with Alabama state educational standards and reporting requirements

Support students in developing both academic and communication skills in a remote setting
Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Deaf Education or a closely related field (required)

Valid Alabama teaching certificate with Deaf/Hard of Hearing endorsement (required)

Minimum of 2 years of experience teaching students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing (preferred)

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication modalities used in DHH education

Reliable internet and a professional, distraction-free home workspace

Experience in virtual instruction is a plus, but not required
