An opportunity is available for a full-time Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing services within an elementary school setting near Aurora, IL. This contract position spans the full academic school year and requires onsite presence to effectively engage with students and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized educational plans tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing
- Utilize appropriate communication methods and instructional strategies to support student learning and social development
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, parents, and related service providers to enhance educational outcomes
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records of achievement and development
- Provide training and resources to school personnel to promote an inclusive learning environment
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (TDHH) certification is required
- Proven experience working with deaf and hard of hearing students in an educational setting
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work onsite and manage full-time responsibilities within an elementary school
