About the Role:

The Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will play a key role in delivering specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, students, and families to promote accessible learning environments and ensure each student’s academic and developmental needs are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in accordance with IEPs

  • Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and student records

  • Collaborate with general education teachers, interpreters, families, and support staff to ensure accessibility and inclusion

  • Support student communication development, academic achievement, and social-emotional growth

  • Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines for special education services

Qualifications:

  • Valid Georgia teaching certification in Deaf and Hard of Hearing Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or a related field

  • Preferred experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in an educational setting

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred
