Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) for a full-time, school-based position in Chesapeake, VA for the 2025–2026 school year.

Typical Job Duties:

Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing

Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with IEP teams
-
Adapt general education curriculum and materials to meet student needs
-
Utilize assistive technology and auditory/oral methods, sign language, or total communication as appropriate
-
Consult with classroom teachers and staff to support accommodations and modifications
-
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction as necessary
-
Communicate regularly with families and multidisciplinary teams
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Deaf Education or related field

Valid Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in Deaf/Hard of Hearing

Knowledge of IEP development and special education procedures
-
Familiarity with sign language and/or other communication methods for students with hearing loss

Strong collaboration, organization, and communication skills
-
Prior experience in a school setting is preferred
