Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher – Part-Time | Detroit, MI | 2025–2026 School Year
A fantastic school district located in Detroit, MI is seeking a part-time Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher to join the team. In this role, you will provide essential support and services to students, helping to foster academic achievement and personal growth. You will collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure each student receives the appropriate care and instruction.
Responsibilities:

Provide direct virtual instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing based on individual needs and IEP goals

Collaborate with teachers, families, and school staff to support student development and access
-
Assist in implementing educational and communication plans as needed

Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation of services
-
Participate in virtual meetings and provide insight into student performance and needs

Maintain a safe, supportive, and inclusive virtual learning environment
Qualifications:

Valid Michigan teaching certification with an endorsement in Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Education

Experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing in educational settings
-
Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a virtual setting

Knowledge of educational methodologies and assistive technologies relevant to deaf and hard of hearing students
