Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist – Supporting Students in Dothan, AL
Location: Dothan, AL (Remote)
Position Type: Full-Time or Part-Time (K-12)

About VocoVision:
VocoVision is seeking a qualified Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist (DHH) to provide remote services to K-12 students in Dothan, Alabama. In this role, you will help students who are deaf or hard of hearing by offering specialized instruction and support, ensuring they have equal access to their academic content in a virtual learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide remote instruction and support to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, ensuring access to all academic materials.

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.

  • Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school teams to monitor student progress and adjust strategies as necessary.

  • Provide consultation and training to general education teachers on best practices for working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.

  • Participate in IEP meetings and offer recommendations for accommodations and modifications for students.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Alabama’s special education regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Valid certification or licensure as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist in Alabama.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education with a focus on Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.

  • At least two years of experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing (teletherapy experience preferred).

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods used with DHH students.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working remotely with students, parents, and school teams.

  • A reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional workspace.
