Sign Language Interpreter Role (SLI) | Doylestown, Pennsylvania | 24/25 School Year

We are seeking a skilled and licensed Sign Language Interpreter to join our team in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. You will play an essential role in facilitating effective communication between students who are deaf or hard of hearing and their teachers.
 
Job Title: Sign Language Interpreter
 
Location: Doylestown, Pennsylvania
 
Position Type: Full time (35 hrs/wk
 
Job details: 

• Interpret classroom instruction, announcements, and student conversations
• Help students understand technical language and abstract concepts
• Assist in parent meetings and other interactions between students and their families

 
Qualifications:

• Valid and active Pennsylvania license as a Sign Language Interpreter
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and other relevant sign system
• Pass the Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) test with a score of at least 3.5 out of 5
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Respect for diversity and cultural differences
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an educational team
