Key Responsibilities
As the DHH Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive educational services to a diverse caseload of students from Kindergarten through 12th grade. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing, implementing, and monitoring Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) to meet the unique learning needs of each student.
- Providing direct, high-quality instructional services in both individual and group settings.
- Collaborating effectively with general education teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure students are successful in the classroom and beyond.
- Conducting assessments and writing comprehensive reports to track student progress and inform educational planning.
- Utilizing and managing assistive technology and other communication tools to enhance student learning and engagement.
Qualifications
- Required: An active Certification in Deaf Education for the is a non-negotiable requirement.
- Preferred: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Deaf Education, Special Education, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience working with students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing across different grade levels (K-12).
- Skills: Strong knowledge of various communication modalities (ASL, Cued Speech, etc.) is highly valued.
