Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher - Full Time
School-Based Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher

Blazer Jobs is seeking a Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teacher to provide specialized instruction and support to students with hearing impairments in a school-based setting. The ideal candidate will foster an inclusive learning environment and ensure students have the resources needed to thrive academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing using appropriate communication methods (e.g., ASL, spoken language, cued speech).

Adapt and modify curriculum to meet the needs of students with varying levels of hearing loss.

Collaborate with audiologists, speech-language pathologists (SLPs), interpreters, and general education teachers to ensure accessibility in the classroom.

Utilize assistive technology such as FM systems, hearing aids, and captioning services.

Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).

Provide training to school staff and families on communication strategies and accommodations for students with hearing impairments.
Requirements:

Active DHH teaching certification/licensure for the state of practice.

Experience in a school setting preferred.

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) preferred but not required.

Strong skills in IEP development, curriculum adaptation, and student advocacy.

Ability to foster an inclusive, accessible, and supportive classroom environment.
