This opportunity is for a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist Teacher position based in Salinas, CA. The role involves working within a school setting on a contract basis, supporting students from infancy through middle school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support for students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
- Manage a caseload of up to 25 students, ensuring individualized attention and tailored educational approaches.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Monitor student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
- Maintain clear communication with parents, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams to support student development.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Certification or licensure as a Deaf / Hard of Hearing Specialist or Teacher is required.
- Experience working with students across a wide age range, from infants to middle school.
- Strong knowledge of communication methods and educational strategies for Deaf and Hard of Hearing students.
- Ability to manage a caseload effectively while delivering high-quality instruction.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Work Schedule and Location:
- Full-time position with hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
- Located in Salinas, CA.
- Contract role within a school environment.
