Role Details

Position: Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH)

Schedule: Flexible — 21–35 hours per week (minimum 3 days, up to 5 days per week; 7 hours per day)

Employment Type: Full-time or Part-time

Contract Dates: Immediate start through May 21, 2026

Setting: Itinerant — working across one assigned campus

Grade Levels: PreK–6th Grade

Compensation: $45–$50/hour, based on experience
Essential Responsibilities
-
Conduct evaluations for students with hearing-related educational needs
-
Attend ARD meetings as required
-
Read, interpret, and apply audiogram results to instruction and support
-
Manage a caseload of PreK–6th grade students receiving DHH services
-
Deliver specialized instructional support aligned with ARD and IEP requirements

Collaborate with staff, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate service delivery

Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with state and district expectations
Qualifications & Requirements

Valid D/HH Teaching License through the Texas Education Agency (TEA)

Experience working in Texas schools preferred

Ability to work independently in an itinerant role

Strong communication and documentation skills

Experience serving children across early childhood and elementary grade bands is beneficial
