Blazer Jobs is currently recruiting certified Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) Teachers to support K–12 students in public school districts throughout Illinois for the 2025–2026 school year. In this role, you will provide individualized instruction and advocacy for Deaf and hard of hearing learners, helping them access curriculum, develop communication skills, and build confidence in inclusive classroom settings.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Illinois teaching certificate with a Deaf Education (DHH) endorsement, or eligibility to obtain one

  • Experience working with Deaf and Hard of Hearing students in K–12 settings

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL); additional communication methods (e.g., total communication, cued speech) are a bonus

  • Understanding of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), assistive listening devices, and language access techniques

  • Ability to meet Illinois State Board of Education and district hiring standards

Position Details:

  • Locations: K–12 public schools statewide, including Chicago, Springfield, Peoria, and beyond

  • Employment: Full-time and part-time W-2 positions for the 2025–2026 academic year

  • Compensation: Competitive hourly rates paid weekly via direct deposit

  • Contract Renewal: Strong potential for renewal depending on performance and district needs

Your Role as an Illinois School-Based DHH Teacher:

  • Promote communication skills, independence, and academic achievement
