Job Title: Hearing Itinerant Teacher

Contract Type: Temporary / Leave Replacement
Position Overview:
A specialized education program is seeking a full-time Hearing Itinerant Teacher to provide services during a leave of absence from December through February. The teacher will work with students who are deaf or hard of hearing across various school settings, supporting their access to instruction and communication needs.
This role is ideal for an experienced, flexible educator who is passionate about supporting students with hearing impairments through inclusive practices and individualized supports.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide itinerant services to students who are deaf or hard of hearing in general education and special education settings

Collaborate with classroom teachers, service providers, and families to support student learning and communication

Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs

Monitor and support use of assistive technology (e.g., FM systems, hearing aids)

Support student self-advocacy and communication strategies

Maintain records and documentation in compliance with state and program guidelines
Qualifications:

Professional Educator License (PEL) with appropriate endorsement for Deaf/Hard of Hearing

Experience providing itinerant services or working with students with hearing loss preferred

Strong collaboration and communication skills

Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule across multiple sites
