Hearing Itinerant Teacher
Location: Mount Prospect, IL
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday – Friday | 37.5 hours per week
Contract Dates: August 2025 – June 2026 (2025–2026 School Year)
Caseload: Varies based on student needs across assigned schools
Blazer Jobs is seeking a certified Hearing Itinerant Teacher for a full-time, school-based role in Mount Prospect, IL. This position is ideal for a compassionate educator dedicated to supporting the academic and communication needs of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing impairments in both general and special education settings

Support access to curriculum and instruction through individualized accommodations and assistive technology

Collaborate with school staff, audiologists, interpreters, and families to develop and implement effective learning strategies
-
Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress and adjust support plans as needed
-
Prepare for and actively participate in IEP meetings, ensuring goals and services align with each student’s needs
Requirements:

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with endorsement in Hearing Impaired (HI) or Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing

Experience working in school settings preferred

Strong understanding of assistive listening devices, FM/DM systems, and instructional strategies for students with hearing loss

Excellent communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
