About the Role:
The Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing will play a key role in providing specialized instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing. You’ll collaborate closely with school staff, students, and families to create a safe, inclusive, and effective learning environment that promotes academic achievement, communication development, and social-emotional growth.
Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing, aligned with IEPs and individual learning plans

Maintain accurate documentation of student progress, assessments, and case records

Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to implement effective strategies and accommodations

Support student academic, social, and emotional development

Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal regulations regarding special education services
Qualifications:

Valid California teaching credential or license for Deaf and Hard of Hearing education
-
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education, Deaf Education, or a related field
-
Experience working in a school or educational setting with children/adolescents who are deaf or hard of hearing preferred
-
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Ability to provide compassionate, student-centered support while maintaining professional standards
