Virtual Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist – Supporting Students in Savannah, GA

About VocoVision:
VocoVision is seeking an experienced Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist (DHH) to provide remote services to K-12 students in Savannah, Georgia. In this role, you will deliver specialized instruction and support for students who are deaf or hard of hearing, helping them succeed academically and socially in a virtual learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide remote support and specialized instruction to students with hearing impairments, ensuring access to all academic content.

Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that address students’ unique needs.

Collaborate with parents, teachers, and school teams to monitor student progress and adjust strategies as necessary.

Offer consultation and training to general education teachers to ensure the effective integration of students with hearing impairments into the classroom.

Participate in IEP meetings to advocate for students’ needs and provide insights on accommodations and modifications.

Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with Georgia’s special education regulations.
Qualifications:

Valid certification or licensure as a Deaf and Hard of Hearing Specialist in Georgia.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education with a focus on Deaf and Hard of Hearing education.

At least two years of experience working with students who are deaf or hard of hearing (teletherapy experience preferred).

Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) or other communication methods for DHH students.

Strong communication and collaboration skills for working effectively with students, parents, and school teams remotely.
