As a Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, you will provide direct and consultative services to students with hearing impairments, ensuring access to curriculum through individualized instruction, assistive technology, and communication supports. Your responsibilities may include interpreting audiological reports, collaborating with educational teams, and supporting students across various learning environments to develop communication, academic, and self-advocacy skills.
To qualify in Washington, candidates must hold a Washington State Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Deaf Education or Hearing Impairments. Experience with sign language (ASL), auditory-verbal techniques, and hearing assistive technologies is highly preferred.
